Colorado Association Of Black Journalists Seeking Applicants For 2008 Journalism Scholarships

CABJ is now accepting applications for its 2008 journalism scholarships. Outstanding African-American journalism students from Colorado are encouraged to apply for scholarship dollars toward expenses at an accredited institution of higher learning.

CABJ will also award its Reynelda Muse Journalism Scholarship Endowment in recognition of Colorado's first African-American television journalist. CABJ created this endowed scholarship in Muse's name to ensure the legacy she established lives on. This scholarship will be awarded to an outstanding African American college student working toward a degree in television journalism.

CABJ's remaining scholarships will be awarded to African American college students majoring in other areas of journalism/communications (news editorial, photojournalism, broadcast journalism, advertising/public relations, etc.).

All applicants must submit an application (which includes six essay questions), two letters of recommendation and an official college or high school transcript along with a letter of acceptance or proof of current college enrollment to:

  • CABJ Scholarship Committee
  • P.O. Box 48192
  • Denver, CO, 80204

The deadline for receipt of information and materials is Friday, June 20, 2008.
